The Sk8side+ Concept
The Council, together with various partners, has put in
a bid to the MYPLACE fund to join up the existing skate and BMX
park with the Sk8side Connexions Access Point under one roof (see
plan below). It is proposed to use shipping containers to
house a café, social areas, training/meeting rooms, workshop and
office space.
The project currently named Sk8side+ will have a
state-of-the-art iconic curved translucent roof. The sweeping
curves, timber beams and tent fabric will compliment the hard edged
vertical lines of the shipping container building.
